This house is in a perfect location on the Main Street in the beautiful village of Greyabbey. It’s next door to a a great butcher’s shop and a supermarket and a short walk to beautiful restaurants and amenities. Our hosts Boyd and Geraldine made our stay very special, the welcome breakfast pack and other basics were so welcome as we arrived quite late. Boyd went out of his way to help us , taking us to the local bus station in Newtownards and to the Tesco supermarket . Nothing was a bother to him , when I rang or texted Boyd with a query , the response was swift. His knowledge of the local area was a great help in deciding where to visit. The house warm warm and cosy , the heating was perfectly timed to come on at certain times during the day. The kitchen was well equipped so cooking was made easy. A Chinese take away delivered by the restaurant from 3 miles away was so tasty not forgetting the lovely fish and chips van recommended by Boyd , which was a real treat , fish was locally caught and fresh. We were there for a family wedding but will have no hesitation returning to 38 Main Street again.

A true home from home
All the comforts of home and some. Love this place Friendly neighbours butcher 2 doors away and shop just across the road. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Hosts Boyd andGeraldine only a couple of doors down so always there if needed. If you want to know anything about the area just ask they are so knowledgeable and helpful. Can’t wait to come back

Family break
This is a clean, well appointed house with everything you need in an excellent location in the town center. Everything in Greyabbey (shops, pub, cafes) is within walking distance, the house itself is quiet and private. Its also the perfect place to stay to explore the Ards pennisula and Stranford lough. Boyd is a kind, friendly and informative host, I would highly recommend a stay here when you visit.

Great staycation
Had the pleasure of staying in No.38 recently while on a short family holiday. Boyd and Geraldine were perfect hosts. House was nice and clean and comfortable. It was very well equipped for home away from home - everything you'd have in your own house. Fridge was stocked with some essentials on arrival which was a nice touch. Would happily recommend this property. Greyabbey itself is a quite little spot, located not too far from Newtownards. There's a great butcher shop next door to the house and a small well stocked convenience store across the road. There's 3 little coffeeshops in the village and the Wildfowler pub/restaurant - all seem to serve very nice food. The breakfast in the Hoops Courtyard Cafe was possibly the nicest I've ever had. They all operate their own opening hours so don't leave it to chance as you could be disappointed. The nearby villages of Ballywalter and Donaghadee are lovely. The aquarium in Portaferry is worth a trip.

Great Host and House
The house was in excellent condition and had everything we could ask for. The host was very respectful and gave plenty of information of things to do in the town as well as services available. I don’t have any compliments about my stay.

Greyabbey is an old village and has remained unchanged for many years. Our first impression of 38 Main St was not good as the outside needed painting as existing paint was flaking away. However, it was located at a central point and everything in the village was within walking distance. Parking was in the street but we were always able to park near the property. The terraced house had everything you could need for a long or short stay and the bed that we used was very comfortable. The owner had kindly left a welcome pack of food that was very much appreciated. Decor was a bit tired and reminded us of staying at our Grannies years ago but we had a pleasant stay. Allow approximately £5 per day for oil and electric.

House was scheduled for painting and has since been painted with a fresh new look - Off road parking is available at the rear of the cottage however reviewer chose to park on street - the cottage is over 150 years old and when renovated this was borne in mind as it was felt a clean minimalist look would be out of character- Pleased you enjoyed your stay

Great hosts, great accommodation and lovely location.
Big thanks to great hosts (Boyd & Geraldine) for allowing us to use their lovely cottage for 4 weeks while we were relocating from isle of man to northern ireland. Cottage has all the amenities you need for a great holiday and the hosts are a lovely couple who definitely go that extra mile for their guests. The breakfast starter pack was very much appreciated. The cottage is in a nice area, friendly locals, has a well stocked local shop as well as a butcher/farm shop. You won't go hungry several places to eat out in all within walking distance, we especially enjoyed the Wildfowler Pub. Our pet dog Chalky was also made welcome, and even got to stay a night with our hosts and got spoilt!. Thank you again Boyd & Geraldine.

We needed to find a comfy house at short notice so that we could attend to some family business & Boyd came up trumps. Very helpful from the outset, understanding of our circumstances & was good enough to allow us to check-in late on Boxing Day evening. Boyd met us, shared all the info necessary about the house & made it clear that it was fine to contact him at any time if required. (Didn't need to as everything was great!) Number 38 is a good holiday option for a small family or two couples looking to explore County Down & within an easy drive of Belfast & beyond. Although we weren't really there for a holiday this time we liked being in the centre of the village & enjoyed a couple of strolls around the antique & collectable shops, a blether with the folks in Angus Farm Stores (2 doors along, a great option for local.meat & produce) as we bought a New Year duck. We enjoyed a lovely meal with family at The Wildfowler Inn just along the street. We bought most of our essentials from the big Tesco in Newtownards (10 min drive away) & topped up at Vivo in the village (a well stocked; friendly 8 - 8 convenience store although a little pricey). We're already looking at returning in summer 2019 for a proper holiday & will bring our wee dogs with us this time. Thanks again, Boyd!

Christmas in the cottage
We spent a cosy Christmas here with our two and five-year-old kids who loved it. Boyd and Geraldine couldn't have made us feel more welcome and the house is handy to the Wildfowler pub and restaurant, the Tuk Tuk Asian takeaway, the local shop and the excellent butchers. Would recommend it for a stay and may revisit myself one day.

Situated in the heart of Greyabbey village on the shores of Strangford Lough and within a few minutes walk to shops, pub, chemist, award-winning farm shop, restaurants and cafes. The 12 century Grey Abbey and its parkland are a short 5-minute stroll with Greyabbey Bay and Strangford lough a similar 5-minute walk. Should you want to travel a little further the area boasts a huge range of visitor attractions from Portaferry Aquarium to Scrabo Tower in Newtownards and most everything else in between.
Getting around
Local busses from Greyabbey can be boarded about 50 meters from the property going to Newtownards and Belfast. Belfast has several transport hubs to access all parts of the country via Bus or Rail. The road network around the area is excellent with Newtownards 10 mins by car Bangor 20 Mins by Car and Belfast only a short 35-40 minute drive
