Great house and great location
The most beautiful house in such a beautiful village - what a brilliant place to stay. The house is so well equipped and Susan and Andy are always so welcoming and helpful. This is the third time we've been and we hope to come again soon!

We wished for a great deal from this visit to the French Countryside and have gotten far more than we knew to wish for
What a wonderful week, in all ways. Place: Meursault is S, SE of Paris, south of Dijon about an hour by car, and it is in the heart of the Grand Cru wine country. Vineyards and Vintners everywhere, with everything from lovely village wines to internationally famous ones. The people here have been friendly without intruding on our holiday time. The villages, in many places virtually toe to toe, are of the picture book variety. Charming, nicely preserved buildings with an architectural consistency, narrow winding streets and lanes, stone wall lined, vines right up to the road everywhere---all the things that thinking of the French countryside bring to mind. Meursault has proven to be just big enough to offer everything wanted, but still compact enough to have everything within an easy stroll of our lodging. Butcher, bakers, fresh fruit and vegetable vendors, small single proprietor shops, every day food and white linen dining options, and of course wine, wine and wine, at prices we Americans could only wish for. The lodging: The place we were happily able to book has been wonderful. I really can't overstate what an unqualified thumbs up I would wish to give. It is an historic hand hewn post and beam and stone structure that has been beautifully renovated into perfect holiday quarters. Every detail we could have wished for seems to have been thought of, beautifully provided, in perfect order. There is a lovely kitchen, with a fine quality of finish, appliances, cooking utensils, china and cutlery, stem ware, coffee making options---you could really be quite happy with this kitchen on a permanent basis. 2 spacious BRs, comfortable King beds, good ventilation, lovely views, each with a large and lovely bath. ample and pretty furnishings for your personal things. A lovely inside living area, and an equally lovely private garden patio with its own grill. A vineyard right up to to property. Long views over the vineyards, village and countryside. French or English television if wanted. Sufficiently strong wifi. Off street, on site parking. As I look around it once again drives home just how much we feel that the design and craftsmanship and beauty of the living space is genuinely special. The proprietors: Susan and Andy are so clearly and comfortably focused on making your stay here as memorable and pleasant as possible. Smart, sweet, unobtrusively attentive to whatever you may need. We have seen Andy lead a bike tour through the wine country, and take us on a tour of vintners. As a courtesy. And they are such enjoyable company. Location, accommodations, proprietors---all more than hoped for. At what feels like a bargain. A week, a month, it would be a joy to return. We've only found one other similarly perfect vacation setting in a fair amount of varied travel. We would not change a thing. Book ahead if you can. They have a loyal following.

Nice property, well equipped and conveniently located.
We spent 2 weeks in House 2. Susan and Andy have created a very comfortable and well equipped property. The rooms are generous in size, great kitchen and nice bedrooms. Access to the garden and Spa is compromised however if the a next door House is occupied. You feel like you are intruding in their space as you have to access it through House 1's decking area. We had warm weather during our visit, as the bedrooms don't have airconditiong you need to be aware of this. The location is exceptional, 100 metres to the village. It is quiet and very relaxed. Recommended but try to book House one if you want to enjoy the outdoors and the spa in warmer weather.

Thank you for your visit and review. We are glad you loved the location and the area and found the house relaxing. I am sorry you felt it was too warm - if we had known we would have provided additional coolant fans in the bedrooms to supplement the main area air conditioning. As to the garden, we note your comments - the decking area is common to both properties as is the jacuzzi, as described - whilst access to House Two's garden is along the rear, I am sure you understand that as it is so unusual to have a garden of this size in the middle of a wine village, a private entrance was not possible. We appreciate your comments, we are always trying to think of ways to improve our guests experiences. I hope we see you on another trip. Best regards

Loved it!
This is even more beautiful in person than on the website. Beautifully done renovation with all the perks you’d want in a home you’re vacationing in. We stayed in house 2 and in that house you walk in to the foyer and then the master (w en suite) is on that level. En suite is open to master with tub, shower and toilet. Upstairs is the kitchen (has everything you need) living room (gorgeous view out over vineyards) and the 2nd bedroom with another en suite. Wonderful surprise to discover sparkling wine chilled in the fridge with the basics and some snacks. After a day of travel it was much appreciated. Her notebook of information is a treasure trove of information and should definitely be consulted! You are literally down the street from the village center and can easily walk to the grocery, bakery or any other vendor in the town village. Highly recommend sitting on the patio to watch the sun go down on a beautiful day in the vineyards! Prices in town are very reasonable.

Perfection!
My daughter Caroline booked this for our adventure to the Burgundy region of France. The house was perfect for two couples. We were in the middle of a beautiful vineyard...with a hot tub to relax in at night. The town was a two minute walk. We had a wonderful stay!

Fantastic stay in a wonderful Bourgogne village
We were two couples from Australia holidaying together. I was looking for a place to stay with our friends who were travelling through France for the first time, so the accommodation was important, but the village location was equally as important. Rue Montmeix House Two was perfect as we had lovely accommodation, beautifully renovated with modern conveniences, and we could wander into the village to pick up croissants for breakfast, or ingredients for a meal. The outside area was a great space to sit and enjoy a glass or two of wine. In regard to the accommodation, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms excellent, washing machine and dryer good, and the kitchen well fitted out. An added bonus was the English channels to watch on TV. If you have difficultywith stairs, that could be a bit of a problem as one bedroom and all the living space is upstairs. There was good parking for cars. The village location is very convenient and it was very easy to walk into the village, which has excellent amenities. Despite its village location, there is an adjacent vineyard which provides a lovely view when sitting outside. There is a lot to do in the area. we like walking and there are some wonderful way-marked walks through the vineyards, villages ad hamlets. Overall, we had a relaxing holiday with a French village experience, and I would highly recommend this accommodation.

Fabulous house in lovely Meursault!
We had the most lovely two week holiday in Meursault, staying at House 2, Rue Montmeix. Meursault itself is an absolutely charming village with everything you could need including essential shops, restaurants and wine!! House Two is just fabulous - without doubt the most comfortable holiday house that we have stayed at (& we have stayed in a few!). It is beautifully decorated and furnished, with everything you could possibly need for a lovely holiday - in fact for the first couple of days the most used phrase was "they have thought of everything" as we discovered all home comforts, picnic equipment, every possible utensil etc..etc... The location of the house is perfect, being a 2 minute walk to the centre of the village with shops/restaurants, but looking out over the vineyards and beyond. There is also a lovely outside space, again with seating, tables, sunbeds and a bbq! In addition before your holiday Susan sends a great guide to the area with recommendations for restaurants, shopping and local amenities. I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely property!

Beautifully renovated and furnished house in an ideal location.
The house is in a fab spot, overlooking a vineyard and just a 100m trot up the hill to the village, which has great shops and everything that you need. There is secure off-road parking, and the one-way system in the village is a bit tricky so it's best to leave your car there. The house was the first that we've rented that wasn't furnished off eBay or out of dead aunties' house clearances! The owners have obviously put a lot of thought and effort into furnishing the house in a modern style and as a whole, so it was a real pleasure to live in. It was also nice to rent a house that was well supplied with not just the immediate stuff but also the store cupboard items that you only need a little of, but miss (or buy) if they’re not there. Not that we cooked in much, as the restaurants in Meursault and surrounding villages were extremely good. We visited Hotel du Centre, Le Chevreuil, Chez Richard and Aupres du Clocher, all of which were excellent - not cheap, but good. Reserving ahead is a good idea, if only to navigate around unpredictable opening hours. Booking Eric the Taxi was a good idea, too, as we often saw the gendarmes lurking around late at night. Back at the house, the outside area was carefully designed to accommodate the residents of the two houses, and was a great place to relax in the afternoon or to have a BBQ late on into the evening. Sun setting, lovely light on the vines, silence apart from the church bell gently bonging in the background, glass of tip-top white wine to hand - what more do you want? The owners had thoughtfully provided loads of info about things to do in the area - the problem, if anything, is that you're spoilt for choice. We used one of the signposted walks ("promenades balisees") which was scenic and easy to follow, and also rented good quality bikes from the village campsite to cycle down to Santenay - smashing (and not too demanding) ride through the vines to a pretty village. Another good day out was the Saturday market in Beaune and the Fallot mustard shop. Thursday's guided walking tour round the village might be worth a miss unless (a) you speak French (bless them!), and (b) like dates. One surprise was that there are lots of villages that don't have a cafe - obviously the locals stay at home, knocking back the home brew - so stopping for a coffee and a wee was sometimes a bit tricky. On the wine front, our best experience was in the Caves Coopératives at Chassagne Montrachet, where we bought some very good, sensibly priced wines from a well-presented range. At other cellars and degustations we got the impression that the price reflected more the lable that was on the bottle than the wine that was in it. For day-to-day plonk, the Caves du Vieux Pressoir in Meursault takes some beating - draught pop as you've never seen it before! The owner's website set our expectations pretty high and they were more than surpassed. A great place to stay in a fabulous area and we'll hope to be back in the future.

Comfortable Luxury in a Fabulous Location
We spent an unforgettable week in Meursault in mid-October and absolutely loved this house. It was the 11th property we've rented in the past 18 months of extensive travel, and it stands out as one of the absolute best, and one we would definitely return to. The owner was fantastic to work with and made everything easy for us. She has everything perfectly organised and was able to accommodate us on short notice. One thing we especially appreciated was the book of recommendations and information about the area that she left for us in the living room, part of which she also sent in advance electronically. It was better than any guidebook! The house itself is charming, beautifully renovated and equipped to a very high standard. The furnishings and equipment were really five-star (and I'm an expert on vacation rentals, remember), and yet the house is cozy and comfortable. The bedrooms and both bathrooms are very spacious; the kitchen and living room are smaller, but as they are on the upper level and benefit from massively high ceilings with exposed beams, they don't feel small. There is also a gorgeous window covering virtually one whole wall of the living space and letting in loads of sunlight. Our family of 3 (2 adults, 1 child of 7 yrs) did not feel cramped at all. The stairs to the upper level are quite steep, and would be a problem for a small child or older person with mobility issues. There is a very good hand rail, however. We made use of the garden area as well, and even played boules. The garden is divided into two sections, one for each house, but there isn't any kind of privacy wall between the two sections. If both groups are using the garden at the same time, they can easily see and hear each other. That being said, the garden is lovely and we actually enjoyed meeting the people in the other house. In addition to loving the house and garden, we were enchanted by the little town of Meursault. The town has everything you need and more, and the house is right in the centre. In one or two minutes walking you can be at the boulangerie, or a fabulous wine cellar, or the grocery store or tourist office. We visited many of the other towns in the area, and were so glad we had chosen Meursault. Aside from Beaune, which is fabulous but much bigger, there are no other towns that we saw that offer the infrastructure and charm of Meursault. To sum up, this house and this location are fabulous and make a perfect home base for exploring Burgundy.
