The Masseria was a beautiful house set in the most picturesque olive groves. It was private, tucked down a long driveway, but not isolated. It was only a 5 minute drive to the nearest town which had plenty of good amenities, restaurants and cafes as...More
Masseria Casalicchio is in close proximity to many of Puglia’s famous hilltop towns, each with their own character and historical centres quite unspoilt by new development. Within 5 minutes is Castellana Grotte, a beautiful market town with banks, supermarkets, restaurants and the world famous caves, arguably the most beautiful in Europe. The ancient town of Conversano, steeped in history with a medieval castle dating from Norman times is just 15 minutes and Putignano, a lively ‘buzzing’ town with an abundance of eateries and shops is an easy 15 minutes in the other direction. Within easy reach is the ‘must see’ town of Alberobello a UNESCO heritage site and fascinating place to explore the trulli, the conical shaped houses unique to Puglia. Nearby is Polignano al Mare, a spectacular s...
