About the neighbourhood
Les Carroz is a beautiful village which maintains a traditional atmosphere, while offering a top alpine experience for visitors. With an established community it remains alive out of season and always has a gentle buzz to it. There is a weekly market every Tuesday morning and plenty of cafes and restaurants offering a great variety of local cuisine. In the winter it hosts a weekly torch lit descent on the slope into the village, which can be watched from the village centre. The sports centre and spa offers outdoor and indoor swimming in winter as well as summer – ideal for the non skier! Also a two screen cinema provides two daily viewings in winter and summer.
Getting around
By ski, car, or foot, the other villages in the Grand Massif can be visited – Morillon, Samoens, Flaine and Sixt. During peak summer months the village télécabine is open giving you access to walking or cycling trails on the mountain and links to other villages in the region. In the summer you can take advantage of the many outside/mountain activities organised by the Bureau de Guides and the sport complex. Every evening there are activities organised in the village centre for all the family, so it is not necessary to leave the village. Special summer weekend events and activities include cycling, walking and horse riding and for a whole week the Choeur de France descends on the village for a week of singing.
