Avoid
Avoid this rental. Cancels at short notice. No off road parking. Dampness on walls. The whole place needs renovating and in need of a huge amount of TLC. Very disappointed on my arrival and no resolution to our concerns provide from the owner. There were no instructions for appliances and no testing certificates or carbon monoxide detectors. If I’m honest I would never return. The only positive with this property is it is close to amenities but for the price charged I would prefer to be less central and have a bit more luxury. Very expensive and a huge disappointment.

Cancelled at last minute.
I booked to stay from 26th Apr - 29th Apr. The owner initially asked if we could leave on the Sat' 28th which wasn't suitable as we were going up for my sons wedding on 28th. Holiday lettings contacted us to inform of the cancellation. But you only have to look at the availability to work out what went on. It is booked through my original dates and onwards till the middle of May. In my opinion this owner will quite happily let you down at a minutes notice if she receives a more generous booking option.

Dear John, I can only repeat my sincere apologies for having to cancel your reservation a couple of days before your planned arrival in order to repair a water leak in the cottage. I can assure you that there is currently nobody staying in the cottage to replace your original booking. Instead, the cottage is empty as we are carrying out repairs and paint work which we expect to complete soon. We appreciate that this cancellation was very inconvenient for you and would have valued the opportunity to find alternative accommodation for you if you had been open to this. I hope you have been successful in finding a suitable alternative and are able to enjoy your son's wedding.

Home from home cottage
We stayed in the cottage in early October 2017. We felt it was a real home from home experience. So much so we were lucky enough to be able to extend our stay by another day. It is we'll equipt and very comfortable. Stella the owner was very helpful with advice. As in one of the previous reviews we found there is no on site parking. Although we did not find that a problem as you can park in the main street which is located at the end of the back garden. The main street is more than wide enough to acomodate parking facilities on both sides. Parking is free and there are no restrictions. You can see your car from the back windows to the cottage. we were lucky enough on most days to park straight outside the back gate. The Mash Tun pub is located just at the end of the lane. For the whisky lover this has a very good selection on offer. They also have a very tasty food menu to choose from which we enjoyed on a couple of occasion in the evening following days out touring the beautiful local attractions. We would not hesitate recommending the cottage and would definitely use it again if we are in the area.

Cosy and central location
Lovely and quiet location centrally placed for touring Speyside. Aberlour is small and the house being next door to the Mash Tun means no cooking required with beer and whisky on tap! Car parking a little difficult some 200 yards away. Next time in the area, wouldn't hesitate to book again.
