About the neighbourhood
We are a short five minute drive from the bustling market town of Eymet, one of the traditional bastide (or fortified) towns that are found throughout the region. Unlike other small towns in the area, it is busy throughout the whole year, with plenty of delicious restaurants to choose from for lunch or dinner, and lots of bars and cafes to sit down and relax in under the collonades surrounding the beautiful market square.Every Thursday morning in Eymet there is a market where you can buy a range of local delicacies. During the Summer, on Thursday evenings there are fantastic night markets, where you can eat under the stars enjoying a range of fresh local produce and wines
Getting around
To get the most of holidaying in the Dordogne region you will need a car. The Dordogne is fantastic place for a holiday with a huge range of activities catering for all interests. We've enjoyed kayaking on the sleepy Dropt and Dordogne rivers, swimming and relaxing at the lac d'l'Escourou, visiting beautiful towns and castles, such as the Chateau de Beynac as well as visiting the huge range of pretty towns in the area and enjoying local markets (we think the Sunday market at Issigeac is the best). Le Boiret is situated in wine country: with three local 'appellations' and plenty of affordable and tasty wines to try. We like Vignes Des Angelys, just on the other side of Eymet. Check out the Dordogne tourism website for more information.
