After several years away our cottage is now available to guests again in 2019. A lovely listed cottage with fantastic uninterrupted views of Strangford Lough. The cottage is in the pretty village of Strangford with unrestricted views across Strangford Lough. Downstairs the cottage has 2 comfortable reception rooms both with open fires and views over Strangford Lough towards the village of Portaferry. There is a fully equipped galley kitchen with a dining area with doors opening to a patio sitting area to the rear of the cottage. There are stone steps leading up to a private walled garden. There is a downstairs shower room with toilet. Upstairs are three comfortable bedrooms each with views of Strangford Lough. There is a family bathroom with roll topped bath. The house is a Listed building dating from 1780 and has some low doorways. All bed linen is provided and all beds are made up for visitors arrival. There is a travel cot available at no extra charge. Towels and toilet roll also supplied. The kitchen is well stocked with essentials- tea, coffee, tinfoil, condiments and a range of cooking spices, T towels, olive oil, dishwasher tablets,washing powder. The village has every facility needed for a pleasant stay.: Post office, Pharmacist, hair dressers, 2 small supermarkets (Mace & Vivo), three pubs: The Cuan (with a restaurant & a food carry -out next door) & The Lobster Pot (with restaurant) and The Hole in the Wall (with Off -Licence), The Artisan Cookhouse. The Cake Room, Kevin Og's(sweets, gifts,newspapers, magazines, licensed Game of Thrones merchandise). There is a lovely sandy beach at Kilclief a couple of miles away A ferry takes you across to Portaferry which hosts Northern Irelands only Aquarium. The village is within walking distance of Castleward (Game of Thrones film location). There is a daily bus service to Downpatrick. More

This is a beautifully restored three bed roomed cottage furnished in comfortable traditional style with some antique furniture. The entrance porch and hallway have flagged stone floors. Downstairs are two lovely reception rooms with wooden floors,window shutters, lough views, comfortable seating and open log/peat fires. One of the reception rooms opens directly onto a delightful enclosed rear courtyard with garden furniture. From the courtyard there is direct access via stone steps to a private walled garden with further sitting areas. There is a well equipped fitted kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge and electric hob and oven with an adjoining large dining area with seating for 6 people. There is a shower room (electric shower) with WC on the ground floor. In the garage (entered via the kitchen) there is a washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave and small freezer.Upstairs is a beautiful bathroom with polished wooden floor boards and a free standing roll top bath. The three bedrooms are comfortably furnished and all have uninterrupted lough views. The building is very old and has some low doorways and narrow passageways.

Strangford Lough is a marine Nature reserve and has 6 designations of protection. It is a haven for bird watching. There is a bus service (Mon to Sat) from the village to Downpatrick at 6 miles away. From Downpatrick there are bus connections to many local towns and to Belfast.There are lovely walks in and around the village.
