The capital of the area is Órgiva, in the lowlands, and the village of Trevélez - famous throughout Spain for its superb mountain hams, or jamón serrano - is, at over 1,470 metres above sea level, the highest village in Europe, overhanging a fast-flowing river and plunging mountain valley.

Leave the airport and take the A-92 east towards Granada. Take the next exit towards Santa Fe onto the A92G, which leads to the A-44/E-902. Follow the signs to Motríl and continue on this road until you see the sign for A-348 Lanjarón. Drive through Lanjarón and after entering Órgiva turn left just after the BP garage onto the A4132 and continue until you pass the kilometer 3 sign. Just after that you will see a large cave on your left, turn right directly opposite the cave and go between two walls with a big sign saying Casa de las Flores, drive down the track, past a group of houses on the left and follow the track until it bears to the right where you will face Casa Jaz...
