In a spectacular position, close to the shores of Loch Linnhe with panoramic views over the loch to the mountains of Kingairloch beyond, this charming semi-detached cottage is part of the original ferryhouse dates from c. 1870. With a fascinating historical background, the ferryhouse has been sympathetically modernised to create a holiday home of unique character with many original features. This 2 bedroom cottage has been recently refurbished and has a lounge and a sun lounge with fantastic views over Loch Linnhe. There is a double and twin bedroom for up to four guests. The bathroom has both bath and an electric shower. There is off road parking space for 2 cars There is an enclosed garden to the front and rear where a path leads down onto the beach. Situated 50M from the local store and within walking distance of two award winning restaurants, this accommodation offers an outstanding base from which to explore the local attractions of Argyll. The very picturesque village of Port Appin is an ideal base for exploring and Oban is within a 40 minute drive. Day trips can be enjoyed to Glencoe and Fort William or by taking the passenger ferry from Port Appin across to the island of Lismore. Cycle and boat hire can be arranged locally and other activities include fishing, pony trekking and hill-walking. The village shop is 30 yards from the property and there are two excellent restaurants nearby.

Now even better
I'm not normally given to using reviews but we have enjoyed staying here several times over the years. Doug has recently made some sympathetic improvements and the cottage is a more comfortable place to stay whilst retaining the wonderful character of the building. The highlight of course remains the sun room and garden where the loch laps at your feet and you can enjoy most stunning views over Lismore and Morvern.

Unbeatable view and location
Beautiful secluded cosy cottage on the shores of Loch Creran overlooking Loch Creran. Warm in the early spring with the wood burner and milder West Coast weather. The friendly community shop is nearby along with the Pierhouse for great morning coffees, bar meals and seafood. No need to stir far if you don’t feel like it as you can walk, cycle (or swim) with lots of amazing routes. Highly recommended.

Historic cottage in stunning coastal location
Cosy and recently renovated historic cottage located on the shores of Loch Linnhe with stunning views across the bay. Very private with secluded garden and off street parking but only minutes from local shop and the Pier House Restaurant.

A charming cosy cottage on the shore in a delightful village
Port Appin is a delightful hamlet on the sea loch Loch Linnhe. There is an excellent village shop and a very good sea food restaurant. The Old Ferry House cottage is in the heart of this peaceful village nestling on the shoreline with a small garden front and back. Private parking for two cars Inside there is a cosy lounge with a woodburning stove, a glorious sun lounge/dining room with views to Lismore and Kingairloch. there are two comfortable bedrooms a bathroom and a well equipped kitchen . A wonderful peaceful holiday destination steeped in local history and a great base for walking cycling and bird watching
