We only rent this as one unit, so you have complete privacy, peace and quiet. The wood burner can be used to heat the yurts, boil a kettle or cook an egg; all you need to do is get it going. Our yurts epitomise the glamping offer (glamorous camping). Whilst still providing you with the feeling of camping out with nature, we want you to feel spoilt and inspired. There is a solar powered cool box for example, but nowhere to plug in your hair straighteners or toothbrush! (Also no Wi-Fi) Our yurts are insulated with sheep’s wool, have cotton sheets on the beds, decking to sit out and admire the views along the Tern Valley, and a book shelf stocked with everything you could ever want. A holiday in our yurts is about enjoying and feeling part of nature, with that little bit of extra comfort. Plus you have the farm shop and Arthur’s Farm Kitchen not too far away for those essentials, such as a cooked breakfast, Sunday roast or pack of free range Gloucester Old Spot sausages! Why not bring your telescope with you and watch the stars, or hire one of our bat detectors to listen to the calls as the bats fly overhead at night. Our yurts are here for you to enjoy.

Great family weekend
We (a family of 4) travelled down from Manchester for the weekend. Our little children loved to see the cows and the sheep, and particularly the newborn piglets. They enjoyed the playground and exploring the farm. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We'd definitely recommend!

Lovely and peaceful stay
This was our second time going glamping and the kids thoroughly enjoyed staying in a yurt again. Having two yurts connected together gave us a lot of space and the interior was decorated really nicely and it felt very cosy. It was a little chilly at night but the wood burner helped us to stay warm. The yurts are very much back to basics with no running water or electricity but we soon got used to collecting water from outside the farm shop and using torches and candles at night time. It was also a good excuse for the kids to have a break from watching screens. The kids really enjoyed waking up in the mornings to sit outside on the terrace to see the cows greeting them right up at the yurt gate and to watch the farmer on his quad bike herding the sheep. Our son also really enjoyed the outdoor play area with small sit-on tractors and a mud kitchen. Although we had our own camping shower and compost toilet, we had an allocated toilet and shower in the Straw Lodge building which we used every day. There was plenty of cleaning products and hand gel both in the yurt and the Straw Lodge so we could keep everything clean and it felt very Covid safe. The staff in the farm shop were also very helpful when we needed to collect more candles and gas for the stove. We also used the farm shop out of hours to charge up our kindles and mobiles. If you're looking for a peaceful stay, close to nature and with a distraction from technology then this is a really great place to stay. The location is also really handy to visit places like Chester Zoo and Bewilderwood Cheshire with the kids.

Utterly relaxing, extremely friendly/helpful staff, such a great stay!
Just returned from staying in the yurts for three days - we had a really fantastic time! The yurts are very well equipped, beautifully made/decorated and in a gorgeous location. The farm is great for kids (and adults!) of all ages, the cafe had really delicious food (including a good range of vegetarian/vegan food) and all the staff we met were extremely helpful. There were plenty of walks to do around the farm, woodland areas to explore, ponds to dip nets into, pigs/piglets to adore, lots of wildlife to spot and easily enough to keep everyone busy and happy. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for some 'off grid' time in the countryside, it was a very relaxing and wonderful holiday. Perfect - thank you to everyone at Fordhall Farm :)

Incredibly cosy nature getaway
The Yurt location is just down the hill from the main farm, out in the fields surrounded by sheep and cows. (But with its own little perimeter fence, for those with big cattle fear) Inside the yurts was better than we imagined, so cosy and lovely with plenty of candles, sofas, blankets, hot water bottles etc, and with the sheeps wool insulated walls it has a lovely soft feel in there. Once we got the log burner lit, it warmed up a lot! And we used the stove to boil the water for hot water bottles and cups of tea etc. Slightly chilly waking up in the morning, but if you've got the fire going when you go to sleep, it keeps some heat in till morning. Plenty of walks around the farm, pigs and piglets, vegetable garden etc and of course the butchers shop and cafe hatch for a morning bacon roll! The gas fridge worked well and there was even a solar powered car cigarette lighter socket in the yurt, so don't forget a cigarette lighter USB charger if you want to charge your phone. Composting toilet next to the yurt was very clean and also a toilet and shower available up at the farm. Overall extremely impressed and highly recommend it!
