Region: The West of Ireland conjures up many images; thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.
Town: The coastal town of Bundoran, meaning the foot of the little water is situated in County Donegal and is one of Irelands most popular resorts. You could visit Bundoran Adventure Park, Waterworld, take cliff-top walks around the town or playing golf on one of the many courses. Close by is Ballyshannon, the oldest town in Ireland, which boasts a folk festival every August and offers shops selling local crafts, pubs, restaurants, a leisure centre and a beach.
We have just returned from a week in this house which was the worst holiday accommodation we have ever come accross. The house is grubby & dirty smelling of damp with patches of mould throughout. It is supposed to accommodate 10 people however the upstairs 2 bedrooms could not be considered bedrooms as you cannot stand up the ceiling is so low & the stairs to access them is dangerous. Only 1 shower worked (for 10 guests!) and both bathrooms were filthy with months of cobwebs and dust. Kitchen is falling apart & dirty with no cleaning utensils or basic supplies. It is such a pity as the area is beautiful but no effort has been made to make this house presentable or to an acceptable standard. In contacting the company (Hogans Irish cottages) we got no apology, solution or assistance whatsoever, they didn’t seem to care. The kettle leaked boiling water which was a hazard so they told us they would drop off a new kettle which never happened. Very disappointing, don’t book this house- it is in need of a complete revamp & a very deep clean! We will never book with hogans again as they simply do not care about their customers.

Awful. Filthy. Dangerous.
Uninhabitable
My family booked this house through Hogan’s Irish Cottages.
We holiday in Ireland every year to self catering accommodation.
Never have we come across such a sub standard property. It was filthy with mould, dirt, cobwebs & spiders everywhere we turned. An awful damp mouldy smell throughout and patched of black damp mould coming through the ceiling in the bedroom.
The stairs are lethal; definitely not suitable for young children or older people. In fact anybody could get a really bad fall or bang to the head.
Only one workable shower for 10 people.
No basic cleaning supplies or basic self catering provisions.
Our parents (in their 70s) had to go home after just one night:@; they couldn’t stay in the place.
The worst is that despite us bringing this to the attention of the Hogan’s Irish Cottages they made absolutely no attempt to resolve or even apologise. It just showed utter contempt for paying guests.

My granny's 80th birthday
So we booked this as my granny is from bundoran and her sister still lives there and we wanted to spend a week there.. 2 fisheries looked lovely and enough space for us all.. we got there and the views were amazing a lady let us in and told us the TVs weren't working but would be fixed on Monday (it was Saturday) not a problem we won't be watching it anyway.. during the week we found a few problems.. the dishwasher didn't work the high chair was broken the outdoor furniture was rusty and the decking was broken but nothing to big to ruin the holiday but I thought I would ring Sykes and let them know whilst it was fresh in my mind! I spoke to Emma who was lovely and opened a case about it.
Well Emma rang me back when we were home and what She told me after speaking to the owner was shocking!!
1. I wasn't getting compensation (I didn't ask for it)
2. The decking is brand new (I have footage to show it isn't)
3. We shouldn't have been using the outdoor furniture as it wasn't on the list (it was hot we wanted a BBQ the table and chairs were there)
4. We didn't request a high chair (we did)
5. Got told we had more people and dogs than we said (we didn't we had 8 adults 2 kids and 2 dogs)
5a. A bit worrying that I think someone was spying on us
5b. The only other person who visited was my 70 year old auntie who is in a wheelchair and couldn't get up the stairs
6. We all got a sick bug I'm not saying it was anything to do with the house but I wouldn't rule it out
I'm very shocked by the owners response as I was only trying to offer some advice but she hit back with all these points. I have asked to speak to the owner but she is now ignoring Sykes now they have my money!!
I'm sorry to say avoid this place which is a shame because the views are amazing!!
