Stella is one of two holiday cottages available at the lighthouse which is located on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. There are wonderful safe beaches, many of which have been awarded the coveted blue flag. In particular, there is Ogmore-by-Sea (just over 4 miles away), Barry Island, Southerndown and Porthcawl, which are particularly good for windsurfing. A short drive away (just over 8 miles) Cowbridge offers a good range of shops with small boutiques, craft and art galleries and excellent restaurants and pubs. Further along the coast is the famous Gower peninsula and walking on the Mumbles. Also available to book at this location is Ariel, sleeping five guests. Additional Information: One well-behaved dog welcome (small additional charge). Travel cot and high chair available on request. The lighthouse does not have a fog horn. There is no WiFi available at Stella and very limited mobile signal. A telephone with honesty box is provided. Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times. Guests are reminded they are renting a heritage building, therefore certain features such as steps, stairs and floor levels may not comply with that of a modern building. As such, we would advise guests to acquaint themselves with the premises on arrival and exercise caution accordingly. Access roads to the lighthouse site are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons. The perimeter of the site is fully fenced and gated but once outside this area, it is very dangerous for children staying at the holiday cottage. Please ensure children are supervised at all times. Sorry, no barbecues, fireworks, drones or remote controlled flying equipment permitted. Please be advised, there is no facility for charging an electric car at this property and charging of an electric car is not permitted.

a suprise birthday weekend
Lovely cottage, very quiet. We took the dog with us. It was a friends birthday and she loved it. the welcome hamper was very nice and full of local produce. it was nice not to have wifii. all I will say is the inside could do with a new coat of paint, it did look a bit tired.

Amazing, Stunning, Quiet
Stayed 3 nights and really wished I had booked a week. 3 Bedrooms consisting of a single, twin and double. A lounge, a dining room and a kitchen. A small toilet/ bathroom and a separate shower/ bath room (with bath). Outside was a nice enclosed patio/ garden area. Everything was clean and once the heating was on, very warm. A mile from Marcross (with a nice pub), its a short drive down a single track road, past a 'car park' and onward to the Lighthouse gates. Through the gates are 2 long term rentals and at the far end 2 short term rental cottages, 'Stella' being one of these. Parking is right outside the door. 'Stella' is attached to the light house, but entrance can only be gained from a public entrance when open to visitors (check for times/ dates). A public footpath runs past the front door and along the coast in either direction. You should be aware there is limited mobile phone coverage, no WiFi, but there is a coin operated phone inside the property. It was windy outside and it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere! but warm and toasty inside. A welcome pack of food and drink was provided. This was very good, and shops were available within 10 mins drive. It was a beautiful place, with fantastic views. A wonderful time. So relaxing! Highly recommended.
