Lovely comfortable base for exploring Snowdonia
Just returned from a fantastic trip to “skip to the zipwire” after our third attempt at finally getting there due to covid. Had great communication with Lynn throughout the whole covid situation.
The cottage itself is lovely, spacious and comfortable, with ample parking and a lovely powerful shower.
The cottage had lots of little touches including lovely fresh flowers throughout the cottage and a bottle of fresh milk, as well as tea, coffee, washing up liquid, handsoap etc, which was much welcomed after a long drive.
Lynn was incredibly gracious when we descended on the cottage a little too early and offered us some local advice about the area. She left us to our own devices but was reachable should we have any issues (which we didn’t)
Bethesda itself is a quiet town (apart from obviously Zipworld) but has some lovely little local walks, Tesco’s is a stones throw away for supplies and there are a handful of places to grab lunch and a drink.
It is a fantastic base to explore Snowdonia and Anglesey, amongst many other places.
Would absolutely return/recommend

Weekend Getaway
I booked this property for my partner's 30th birthday and I was not disappointed! A gorgeous cottage set in a rural location but with everything you need a short walk away. We arrived in the evening to find the fire had been lit, there were fresh eggs, bread and milk provided and lots of info about the area and where to eat was available (Sitar takeaway is an absolute treat!). The owners were easily contactable but otherwise left us to our own devices. I had one of the best sleeps I've had in a long time, the bed was so comfy! I couldn't have asked for more, and at a very reasonable price too. I wouldn't hesitate to come back and have already recommended the property to friends and family. My partner was thrilled too, even more so when he realised we would be doing the zipwire (very short walk away) - definitely book this cottage and you MUST do the zipwire too - the whole weekend was fabulous. Thank you Paul and Lynne.

Harriet thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with such a great review, it gives us such satisfaction to provide a service that is appreciated and to know our guests have a great time, come again to Skip To the Zipwire and stay longer, there is so much to do in the locality and further afield
Kind regards

beautiful warm comfy cottage
This is a lovely holiday cottage, so warm and welcoming! Delightful rustic kitchen with everything you could possibly need, nice big living room with log burner. upstairs 2 characterful bedrooms and a bathroom. This cottage is just perfect, thought has gone into every detail and the owners are so helpful. Thank you for letting us stay. We came for the weekend with a ride booked on the Penrhyn quarry zip wire which is literally just round the corner, not 5 minutes drive away. Although it was a pretty wet weekend when we stayed there are lots of walks from the cottage and we hope to return next year to explore some more of the area.

Picture of traditional Welsh country life
Our stay at the cottage was on the whole delightful, and despite being near a small to medium village with the usual modern conveniences, it really was a lovely slice of what an outsider would think is rural, chocolate box, countryside Wales. The surrounding scenery was wonderfully quaint, with slate mounds and a trickling stream nearby making it an idyllic setting.
The cottage catered for three adults, a 4 month old baby, and a very old Boxer dog perfectly adequately, with the owner even supplying baby 'things' such as a travel crib and stair gates if required, which made travelling with an infant much less cumbersome. Two spacious bedrooms, plenty of lovely wooden beams and features throughout (even a few creaky floorboards adding to the charm), a relatively well equipped kitchen, and a garden patio which is a sun trap most of the day and into early evening making it convenient to dry washing on the line and for when little ones have ceased their screaming and the adults get to relax with a bottle of something! Also, excellent enclosed onsite parking allayed any concern that the dog might jump out the car straight into the main road.
The only reason we couldn't give it a 5 star review is that there were a couple of issues, but these were very quickly resolved by the owner and credit to her for her communication, expediency & friendliness. Would definitely recommend staying here for a family or a couple wanting a quiet getaway, especially as the Velocity zipwire is realistically within walking distance if that's what you've come for... and it's well worth the experience!

Perfect mountain cottage
This cottage is located in Bethesda on the edge of Snowdonia. The 6 cottages were originally the National Welsh School. Ours was better than the web photos with loads of storage, old school chairs, interesting furniture & pictures, an oven & a fridge/freezer & a pretty private garden outside. They'd thought of everything to make our stay special. Great value. Self catering but they leave a loaf of bread & a small bottle of milk as well as a few basic groceries like tea/coffee/sugar/butter to tide you over. There are handy shops & cafes in Bethesda & a petrol station. It's close to Velocity ZipWorld - the fastest & longest zipwire in Europe (£70) - perfect for those adrenalin junkies. Handy also to National Slate Mine & the Snowdon Mountain Railway in Llanberis & Penryhn Castle the Bodnant Welsh Food Centre. Wish we'd booked a longer stay.

Excellent
Very nice cottage in a quiet location but well situated for most of the towns and attractions of North Wales.Attractively built in slate comprising a large living area, two bedrooms and a good-sized kitchen/dining room.it will sleep up to 7 but was perfect for our party of 5.At the back of the house is a secluded patio area which would be very pleasnt on a summer's evening.its on two levels so not ideal for very small children but otherwise is a very good spot to eat or sciaalise when the weather allows.
The owner had provided bread, milk and butter so we had emergency provisions.A nice touch and we would happily return.

What a gem!
Before we arrived Lynne was very attentive, ensuring we had information on the surrounding area and how to reach the cottage. We loved the cottage, a very charming property. The front room with the log burner was so cosy in the evening. The beds were comfy, the rooms clean and well presented. The flowers, milk, butter, fresh bread and dog biscuits were a lovely touch. The owners obviously go the extra mile as the cottage has a lot of thoughtful extra touches such as board games, menus for local amenities and attractions. We are already looking at going back!

Great birthday celebrations.
Were lucky enough to stay at cycle to the zip wire. Lovely cottage, ideal for the zip wire which was just a short cycle ride away, but must admit used 4 wheels to get there. Stayed with family members, we all thought cottage was lovely. Flowers in our rooms was lovely as well as the cake and magazines left for us. It was a pleasure to stay there. Owners were very obliging in allowing us to arrive early and a later departure, which was great as we could have a full English breakfast before we set home on our 3.1/2 hour journey home. Cottage was well stocked with hand wash, washing up liquids, shampoo etc. And the tea tray even had a home baked cake 🎂 I wish 🌠 the cottage was just a bit nearer, so we could have more weekend breaks there. My daughter in law even went out for a morning run through the woods. Everything was a lovely experience for us all. No complaint just a lovely cosy warm cottage.
