Excellent
Fantastic family house to rent. WiFi plus all the amenities needed for lovely week in Aughris and surroundings of Sligo. Sheila’s Landmark is spotless clean and great value for money in an ideal location for touring the area. The tips from Sheila from shopping to places to visit and eat are great. Dog friendly and we will be back. 10/10.

Great house
We loved this fabulous house, which is in a great location for exploring Sligo. It was really well-equipped with loads of room for our family and it was lovely to be able to bring our dog. Would recommend the Beach Bar and Dunmoran Strand and the views from the top of Knocknarea.

Family get away
The house was central to a magically winter get away. Travelling with 2 young daughters (9 and 5) and Puppy we thoroughly enjoyed the truely beautiful surroundings with beach walks, cliff walks, mountain (hill) treks and waterfall visits, this coupled with the great base of Sheila’s house made for a memorable trip! Car is certainly recommended and note dogs not welcome in the beach bar, although understandable this would have made the trip even more enjoyable. That said staff were great and Guiness also! Sunday dinner 👍 Would recommend Glencar waterfall, Aughris Cliff walk (dolphins and seals if your lucky) and Knocknarea Mountain walk. Host Sheila was wonderful in supporting our arrival and presents a lovely house to relax in, make use of stove with fuel from fantastic local shop. Thank you Sheila and the residents of Aughris for a lovely and well needed week away.

Lapping up the late summer sunshine at The Landmark!
Sheila's places never fail to disappoint! The Landmark is an ideal spot for the family to access the surf on the beach, magical mountain views and a home-cooked meal in the restaurant, at the cosy Beach Bar nearby. Everything you need for a comfortable, hassle free stay is at The Landmark. The minute you arrive you can relax! Sheila has provided a clear guide to all the facilities in the house and local hot spots to visit. We'll definitely visit again, as we loved it here!

Lovely house - great base
We, a family of 5, stayed in The Landmark for 3 nights and found the house to be ideal for our needs. The house has 3 large bedrooms (one downstairs with an ensuite), a lovely kitchen and a really cosy sitting room with a wood burner stove. The kids loved the big back garden. The location is an ideal base for exploring the local area and further afield. Plenty of beaches nearby with our favourites being Aughris and Dunmoran. The Beach Bar at Aughris Beach is a must....the food and service is great. Enniscrone and Sligo town itself are short journeys away. Our host, Sheila, was very helpful and made our stay both welcoming and hassle free. Overall we had a lovely relaxing break at the Landmark.

Landmark Aughris in Surprising Sligo
Aughris The Landmark House was perfect for a stay with 5 kids and a Dog. Garden is safe and huge with sheep and cows looking in on the kids playing football. All rooms are lovely, clean and child/pet friendly. Great location to center yourself for all amenities around Sligo. House seemed to be 30 mins max from everywhere we wanted to visit. Aughris is lovely, pub is amazing for food and DunMoran beach is fantastic. If you are thinking about Sligo BOOK the Landmark at Aughris from Sheila who is an extremely helpful host.

The ideal location on the Wild Atlantic Way
Have been visiting the west coast of Ireland for many years and the discovery of the Landmark was the best part of this year’s holiday . The location so close to Beach Bar (my favourite bar/restaurant ) was a big positive. As a big golf enthusiast the Enniscrone links course is nearby and of championship standard. The house is of the highest standard and Sheila the proprietor was so helpful with information on local attractions and dealt with our bookings etc in a most professional way. A great holiday and will be back again

Very relaxing break
Just returned from a three night break at The Landmark with my husband, son and our Labrador. We had a really relaxing time and could not fault the house. It had everything we needed, was very comfortable and it is in a really beautiful area. Sheila was very nice and helpful, passing on details of good restaurants etc and the entire booking process was painless. On our departure day she texted to tell us to take our time packing up which made for a leisurely morning. The area was great for exploring and the added advantage of The Beach Bar within walking distance was a big bonus - great food and nice staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Landmark and would hope to return sometime.

Fantastic pet friendly location away from it all
Had a wonderful time in the lovely 3 bed house. Sheila was very welcoming and helpful. The house is in a great location - 1.8 km from the beach house pub and restaurant and also close to Dunmoran Strand which is a wonderful unspoiled very sandy beach. You would stay here to experience the wonderful views and beaches nearby and it is also a great base from which to visit other nearby attractions. There is a very large secure back garden which was perfect for the very lively dogs we brought with us.there is a stove which gives out great heat. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for good accommodation slightly away from it all. For pet owners it is perfect!

About the neighbourhood
This is an unspoilt coastal area of outstanding natural beauty.. Aughris Head is one of the designated ( must see) Discovery Points on the Wild Atlantic Way. There are multiple options here, either to chill out on the local sandy beaches or do day trips.
Getting around
A car is recommended although we seem to have an ever-increasing number of walking enthusiasts who take the bus to Templeboy and then hit the ground. Boy but those serious walkers sure can cover some amount of KMs during their time here. We are happy to provide transport to walkers to/from the bus stop (3kms) .
