Welcome to our family house. We've been working hard to create a stylish, welcoming house for guests that wish to relax with friends & family either for a weekend break or a longer holiday. Almost perfect … but not quite
The house was absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed and more. Beautifully furnished and spacious, and we had an amazing weekend with fantastic weather which meant we could enjoy the lovely garden. The disappointing part however, was having part of our deposit kept back. The reason for this being that we neglected to empty the dishwasher as we had put it on before leaving, and also did not take the bedding off the beds. We were busy trying to sort an issue with the lights that had flickered and gone off whilst we were enjoying our meal the previous evening. It was quite apparent that we were held to blame for this, as we were told that we had “confused the lights” ?? Our North East accents perhaps? Who knows… nevertheless after paying 2000 pounds for a 2 night stay it was very disappointing to hear that this was the case. We did try to sort out the lights by phoning the owner whilst we were there, but no, they were still confused, as were we by this point. We did have an amazing stay, but it was marred slightly by this.

Picture perfect and Beautiful
Beautiful house, lacking in nothing, with large, beautifully decorated rooms and easy access into Edinburgh. It's quiet with easy parking and close to everything. Thank you Iris for the beautiful Christmas tree :), we loved our stay.

A truly beautiful home close to Edinburgh
Fabulous location near to local amenities and not far from Edinburgh. Beautiful surroundings and not too far away from the sea too! We visited a lovely park near by which was very dog friendly. We had a wonderful stay and were fortunate to be there when the Edinburgh Fringe was one, which was great fun. The house is decorated to a high standard and the kitchen has a lovely communal feel to it. The bedrooms are good sizes and very comfortable. We loved the large sitting room which is very vibrant and welcoming. There is a good sized drive for parking and a nice garden for children to run around. I would highly recommended this property and we would not hesitate to return.

Exceptional residence in a beautiful location - the pinnacle of my Scottish holiday
What a gorgeous house and wonderful hosts! I was in a huge double bedroom, and had access to a very newly renovated, ultramodern bathroom. The house was perfectly located in a lovely village with everything I needed within walking distance. Getting to Edinburgh was simple - great access to main roads and easy and quick via car, bus or train. Parking was off-road directly outside and part of the stay. WiFi throughout the house. A fantastic stay in a fabulous house!

Fantastic Victoran House
Visiting & staying in Eskbank & this lovely house was fantastic! Some houses which are described as “5 bedroom” can be somewhat disappointing. This was not. Five large bedrooms with lots of space in the kitchen and lounge areas meant that our family of 6 felt very at ease and never confined. The standard of furniture and amenities were very high and it felt like staying in a boutique hotel. Showers & bathroom facilities were excellent and catered well for all ages of our family. A large family sized table in the kitchen allowed and encouraged family eating and talking – to discuss the days adventures and to plan the trips planned for the next day. Eskbank is a perfect location to discover Edinburgh. The city centre can be reached by car or public transport with ease. With simple sat nav and maps the location offers access to both the city and also the surrounding areas, including the nearby coastal towns offering a wonderful contrast to simply visiting the city. Another important plus to this location is easy access to a large Tesco supermarket, 5 minutes in a car and a local pub which can be walked to for those occasions when a local night is preferable to refresh tired legs! I can very much recommend this wonderful Victorian house for a family stay. If your looking for quality and a great base from which to discover Edinburg, this Holiday let is perfect. We will be staying there again – can't wait.

An ideal location for visiting Edinburgh and also enjoying the East Lothian countryside.
My family and I stayed at this wonderfully charming house in Eskbank last summer. It’s location is ideal just minutes from Edinburgh city yet also just a few minutes to the beautiful East Lothian Countryside. The beautiful cathedral, cafes in Edinburgh, National Museum of Edinburgh. We also made a trip to North Berwick to see the puffins. We loved escaping the city after a frenetic day at shows & shopping, the peace and quiet was just what we needed. A few times we chose to go into town in the evening to eat with friends we were meeting and this was very easy too. We took a taxi and the fair was very reasonable. Our teenage children wanted to visit Roslyn Chapel and we had a beautiful walk along the glen later in the afternoon, the cafe kept us well stocked up in preparation. Another day my husband played a round of gold in North Berwick and I explored the lovely shops in the high street. All in all we just loved our holiday in Scotland and staying at Eskbank Terrace was a treat to come back to every day. Sitting in the garden room we could relax and leave the bi-fold doors wide open so we enjoyed the garden. The summer nights were gloriously long just right for lots of chats about our filled days. It was also really great for the children having their own large shower room on the top floor. We loved the very spacious master bedroom and slept like logs in the French Walnut bed! We would definitely love to return to this beautiful house!
