A magical hideaway in rural France!
Our stay at La Vieille Ferme was booked with little notice and from the first point of contact with our hosts Angela and Derek we received a warm welcome. Our holiday was booked with relaxation in mind, and when we arrived at La Vieille Ferme we soon realised this is exactly what we were going to get! Our accommodation, The Dairy, was a home from home, and perfect for a couple's getaway, with all essential amenities and lovely touches including our own BBQ and a welcome bottle of locally produced wine. The grounds, barn, sun terrace and swimming pool provided the perfect location for days of relaxing in the sun, and exploring the local area. The local bakery was closed during our stay due to vacation, but Angela and Derek accommodated with a delivery of bread each morning and were very happy to recommend some of their favourites. We will certainly be returning, and plan on bringing family with us next time!

Pure Bliss.....
This was our 3rd stay at The Dairy. Angela and Derek once again made us feel very welcome. The accommodation is always spotlessly clean and well organised. La Vieille Ferme is a great place to relax and chill out. Its a lovely rural setting but there is plenty to do should you wish i.e. boule, badminton, table tennis, bikes and the wonderful pool with plenty of sunbathing areas. We travelled with our 22yr old and 13yr old daughters and they love it too. The area is great as a base too for visiting other lovely quaint villages, local markets and a rather excellent zoo! We will definitely return!

A tranquil and relaxing stay
La Vieille Ferme gave us the chance to kick off our shoes, relax and unwind in beautifully kept, well appointed surroundings. We explored local chateaux and towns then came 'home' to cool off in the lovely pool and enjoy a BBQ and a glass of wine. Angela and Derek are welcoming and considerate hosts and they have thought of everything to make your stay complete.

An excellent place to stay in the Loire
We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay in the Dairy at Le Vieille Ferme. The accommodation is of a high standard in a beautiful setting and the additional facilities in terms of the pool and table tennis table are a real bonus. The hosts Angela and Derek made us feel very welcome and were really helpful when asked for advice. It was only a 200m walk each morning to buy bread, and croissants and Clere du Bois was an excellent base for exploring the Loire Chateaux. We would definitely recommend The Dairy.

Wonderful holiday
We came here with some friends who let one of the adjoining properties after they stayed here last year. We stayed for 2 weeks and had a wonderful relaxing holiday. The property sleeps 3 in comfort. The Dairy has been renovated to a good standard and has all the amenities you would expect. The outdoor swimming pool was blissful particularly with the hot summer sun. Angela and Derek who own the properties are perfect hosts. Nothing at all was any bother for them from helpful advice on things to do and places to visit, supplying local wine and booking tables at local restaurants for special occasions. Would I recommend this holiday - 100% yes, you will not be disappointed

Idyllic!
The Dairy proved to be everything that we anticipated. It was very much home from home and had absolutely everything there that we needed. The quality of everything from the bone china mugs to the incredibly comfortable mattress could not be faulted. Everything about, not only the gite but the grounds and surroundings were immaculate. The covered and heated swimming pool was very much an added bonus on either damp or overcast days, when we merely felt like lounging around. Angela and Derek were splendid hosts in as much as they were very welcoming and tried to provide for our every need, but we did not feel that they intruded in any way. We had a wonderful time at this gite and we would, without reservation, recommend a holiday here.

A hidden gem
We can only reiterate the comments and praise from previous guests. The accommodation and hospitality exceeded our expectations. The Dairy, being one of four rental gites within the grounds, is a stunning conversion, beautifully presented with great attention to detail by the owners. It offers what one would wish for when renting in rural France - and then some! We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to others.

Memorable Holiday
Although we stayed in the Dairy 10 years ago, and had a great time, the facilities this time were even better! The log burning stove made sure we were pleasantly warm during the cool evenings, and it was lovely to sit beside the covered pool, sheltered from the wind, reading, relaxing or just enjoying the beauty of the view. La Vieille Ferme is situated in the heart of the beautiful French countryside, and there are plenty of picturesque villages to visit; although it took us a few days to remember that everywhere closes for a couple of hours in the middle of the day! The quiet, well surfaced and often very straight roads make exploring the surrounding area a pleasure. Angela and Derek have thought of everything to ensure a perfect stay, and that is what we certainly had! Thank you both for another memorable holiday.

Idyllic French retreat
It is with a degree of expectation that you book and arrange a holiday we were not disappointed. Photographs and reviews do not do this setting justice. Angela and Derek are the most hospitable of hosts and go out of their way to ensure that your stay is memorable for the right reasons. There was just the right amount of activity around the gite, the accommodation well appointed and the weather perfect. Do get out and about, explore the countryside, the small towns and villages and eat with the local people. You will have a great time.

A must place to stay in the Loire!
Thank you so much Angela and Derek for the most fantastic location to stay for our first week in the Loire Valley. The location is perfect. Very easy to travel to Loches, Tours, Chenonceau, Amboise and more. Beautiful countryside surrounded by fields of sunflowers as far as the eye can see. The hosts were fantastic. So friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. The farm buildings have been restored to the highest quality, and so much is made available for guests to make your stay extra special - BBQ's, bikes, pool, badminton net, table tennis table and much more. We will certainly be back to stay, and will recommended unreservedly to friends and family. It is a gem of a place in the heart of the Loire.
