A Wonderful Week
My husband and I stayed at the Dairy for a week (wish it had been longer). On arrival there was a bottle of wine on the table, ham, coleslaw, tomatoes, lettuce and cucumber in the fridge as well as a loaf of bread. This was very welcome as it was evening when we arrived. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is on suite as well as there being another bathroom down stairs. The shower was wonderful, good water pressure, constant temperature. The electrics are English and French, so no need to bring adapters. I love a galleried bedroom, so this was an added pleasure. The boulangerie is only a few minutes walk away and opens at 8:15 every morning except Wednesday. There is also a bar/restaurant that is open every day except Wednesday. There is also a heated swimming pool, very nice after a hot day out. The area has a wealth of Chateaux, a zoo, a nature area similar to New Forest.

Peace and Tranquillity
We have recently returned from a wonderfully relaxing two weeks in The Dairy and can't wait to return. Angela and Derek were the perfect hosts, always ready to help which was especially appreciated when Brittany Ferries cancelled all crossings. Angela sorted everything out for us. The Dairy is beautiful with lovely old beams everywhere, tastefully decorated and equipped with everything one could need. It is situated in a quiet hamlet, perfect for evening strolls and close to many interesting old towns and villages. The icing on the cake is the covered , heated swimming pool, where one can swim or lounge whatever the weather. Whilst we were there, there were several couples on repeat visits which speaks volumes on the quality of the accommodation.

Excellent accommodation, relaxing location, welcoming hosts
We are regular visitors to France. The Diary lived up to all our expectations. Angela and Derek were the most friendly and hospitable hosts. Excellent area for cycling, great pool and table tennis facilities. Gite very clean and well equipped. Local Boulangerie/restaurant a must. Highly recommended.

It must be good if a teenager wants to rush back here from Euro Disney
To be honest France was way down on my list of holiday destination, but my partner (now wife) wanted to see the château of the Loire Valley. I’m so glad she persuaded me. We arrived just as it was getting dark to a very welcome bottle of wine supplied by Angela & Derek and a quick tour around the Dairy in which we were staying. The next morning we were shown around the rest of the property which was so well kept. It was a home from home. UK electric sockets, UK Satellite TV, DVDs/Videos & books. There was even wifi which kept Laura the 16 year old happy with her iPad. The pool was very welcome in the afternoons when we stayed close to the gite as the weather was so good and sunny with high temperatures which we found out was common for the time of year and the area. The village of Cléré du Bois is quite small but we found 2 supermarkets 10 min drive away in Châtillon-sur-Indre that we passed most days and which covered all our needs. We were surprised as to how quite the whole area was the villages seemed empty and the roads were straight with little traffic (but you still had to be aware of the odd rogue driver who think they own the roads). Sat Nav I feel is a must for the area as there are so many places to visit and not all of them are in the guide books as we passed many château and picturesque areas on our way to sites we knew about. The countryside, at the time we were there, seemed to change from day to day. Green fields slowly turned yellow as sunflowers bloomed. Spotting poppies in the cornfields became my obsession (good job for straight roads). Around the middle of the 2 weeks we were there we took the 16 year old to Euro Disney for a couple of nights. But by the 2nd night we all could not wait to get back to the gite. All in all, a fantastic holiday with great amenities and attentive hosts. There are not many places we would go back to but the Dominican Republic is one and Angela & Derek’s gite is another. Well recommended.

A haven of peace
We spent a glorious week in la laiterie in the idyllic surroundings of La Vieille Ferme. Angela and Derek were wonderful hosts and were on hand for advice and any problems. However, the gite was well equipped and spotlessly clean. We will be returning.

A little piece of heaven
This is one of the loveliest gites that we have stayed in. The village is very pretty and has the welcome addition of a bar / restaurant . The gardens are beautifully kept and there is a small pool The gite was well equipped and very comfortable . The owners provide BBQ and garden equipment including fresh herbs for the use of guests . The log fire was welcome in the evenings. The hosts were helpful in every way , from advice on the local area to restaurant bookings. The small pool has now been replaced by a large covered pool.
