Holiday Rental House
Beautifully designed and elegantly dressed. This detached home is spacious, with a large kitchen & dining for 8. (+). The rooms are all finished to a very high standard and decorated with excellent taste. Linen, towels and utilities are FREE!! The outside space offers a gorgeous original walled garden with outside dining The location is just perfect to explore the town of Lismore which is steeped in history. Our local chuches date back to the 12th century, and the historical castle is only 5 minute walk. The location of Lismore is central to Waterford, Cork and Tipperary. There is myriad choice of restaurants, bars and takeaways. The river Blackwater is synonymous with fly- fishing and angling.

Thank you Helen and Stephen for letting us stay in your lovely accommodation. On arrival Stephen was very welcoming. With 8 of us 5 adults and 3 children we had plenty of space in the property. Lismore is a great place to visit as you are only 20 mins a way from beaches and 15mins from the lovely mountains which you see as you walk towards town. Plenty of walks around the town which definitely tired out the kids and the people of lismore are very polite. Will highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a nice quiet get away.

Great, spacious house, well equipped within 5 minute walking distance of pretty town of Lismore. Beautiful garden to relax in. Owner was very helpful. Beds all comfortable. Lots to do in West Waterford. The castle gardens and VR tour are a must!

About the neighbourhood
Lismore Castle. Built by Prince John of England in 1185 it remained for four centuries the Episcopal residence. In 1589 the Bishop’s Palace was leased with its lands to Sir Walter Raleigh. Richard Boyle, later the great Earl of Cork, purchased Sir Walter Raleigh’s estates in 1602. His famous son Robert Boyle, the father of modern chemistry, was born in Lismore Castle in 1626. In 1748, the castle and its lands passed to the 4th Duke of Devonshire through the marriage of Lady Charlotte Boyle. The battlements and turrets of the present day date from the mid nineteen century refurbishment. The present owner of Lismore Castle is the 12th Duke of Devonshire. Whilst the Gardens and Gallery are open to the public, the Castle itself remains a private family home.
