Second Floor: Honeymoon Suite with it's ensuite bathroom and meditation space. POOL with PANORAMA: It is heated by the sun-which we have 24/7. It has Roman stairs to sit on with relaxing jets, walking depth which goes down to perfect diving depthness from the opposite end. OUR HERB & KITCHEN GARDEN. You will find our produce: extra virgin olive oil, 'liquore di mirto' and homemade jams, just to name some basics. In addition to all those we have 300 olive trees (we make our own olive oil ), almond, walnut & fruit trees, gelsi (mulberry), jasmine, lavander and a large rose collection. GROTTE - Caves! Have an Etruscan aperitif in one of our caves overlooking the olive grove and the Tevere.
We support the following local activities: Trekking Monti Amerini where local guides Elena & Gianni will take you through our mountains and various historical sites. They'll tell you their history, vegetation and legends. WWF Oasis of Alviano you can photograph migratory wildlife from hidden 'cappane', stroll on 7km of paths. VBar for wine tasting& aperitives km0 Umbrian cuisine tastes& pizzas. Upcoming kayaking&canoeing on the Tevere this fall.
NEIGHBORING TOWN- GUARDEA- Stroll some 900m on an Etruscan road lined with caves and secular oaks to reach Guardea for groceries, pastries, pizza, ice cream, coffee shop, fresh pasta, soccer field, sagras in the piazza, Umbrian speciality foods.
WILD FAUNA - wild pheasants, wild boars, hedgehogs and 'istrice' (variety of porcupine) along this road. From the Veranda during lunch the falcons fly over. Visit the WWF OAsis for Migratory Birds on the Tevere. Drive slowly at night but do drive to see our wildlife, seems like living in zoo.
SURROUNDING- Etruria* is what you see in your panorama. That is Etruria which includes north Lazio, Maremma Laziale and south Tuscany, Maremma Toscana with a strip of Umbria adjoining the Tiber River. What you see in your view is what you get in numerous day trips while the Castle of Poggio di Guardea behind us hides more of Umbria for you to discover! DAY TRIPS- Visit Orvieto, Todi, Bagnoregio,Bomarzo, Lago Bolsena, Viterbo, Pitigliano, Cascate delle Marmore, Montalcino, Pienza, Perugia, Spoleto, Deruta ....the list is long. We can also recommend an itinerary in mountain bike and rafting & Trekking with our Trekking Monti Amerini. CUISINE: Discover the typical Umbrian cuisine in nearby restaurants as well as the other two cuisines, from Tuscia (north Lazio) and Maremma (tuscany) on your day trips. Many guests have discovered our panorama is unbeatable and they order takeaway to dine under our new veranda in front of this panorama! About the neighbourhood
This area has yet to be discovered by 'grand tourism'! There are helpful people but do not expect them to speak English. It's a great place to bike, read, swim, walk, photograph or do nothing. There you'll find everything necessary, bakery, butchers, homemade pasta, coffee & pastry shops and summer time Sagras in the piazza where you can try the wonderful homemade local cuisine; Sagra degli Gnocchi & Sagra del Cinghiale are a must!
Rome Termini-Alviano Scalo. Commuter train ride in 55 minutes. Orvieto Scalo is 20 minutes from the Casale.
