Pingle Nook is a beautiful three double bedroomed cottage, formerly a Derbyshire long barn in the 1700’s, nestling in the centre of Ashford in the Water being only a stone’s throw away from the famous, highly photographed, Sheep Wash bridge.

The village stands on the banks of the meandering River Wye and is approximately 1.5 miles north of the bustling market town of Bakewell and all its amenities, centrally positioned in the Peak District midway between Matlock town and the spa town of Buxton.

Pingle Nook is a character cottage having the benefit of modern fittings and appliances sleeping up to six people, with off-street parking for one vehicle and further on-street parking available opposite the cottage. Ashford in the Water or Aisseford in old English has medieval origins.The village grew up on a ford in the river Wye with its ancient arched bridge spanning the crystal waters where overfed rainbow trout loiter in the shade.Duck and swan feeding being a must!
The chuch with its Norman origins stands serenely in the village centre next to the old Tithe barn .
The village, famous for its well dressings developed a well established cottage industry in the making of Ashford black marble artefacts,especially popular in Victorian times.
