Region: Visitors to the Cotswolds have long treasured memories of charming towns and villages built from the famous honey-coloured stone, it now boasts a thriving community of contemporary artists working from studios and shops throughout the area. Town: Midway between Cheltenham and Broadway, the thriving Fairtrade town of Winchcombe, a conservation site, is located above the River Isbourne. Visitors can browse the unique selection of local stores along the town's three main streets, which still have plenty of charm thanks to their honey-coloured stone and timbered exterior or try a tantalising assortment of regional fare in the town's restaurants, wine bars, tea shops, and delis. Farmers' markets, country events, and music and arts festivals are also held in the town. Throughout the summer, guided tours of the town are offered, and Winchcombe is ideally situated for walking of all levels because it is where the Cotswold Way, Gloucestershire Way, Warden's Way, and Windrush Way converge.
