A perfect place to stay!
This was our 5th visit to Heavenfield Cottage at St Oswalds Farm, and yet again, we had a wonderful stay. The cottage is the best equipped & the most comfortable that we have ever stayed at. The owners, Lorraine & John, are very welcoming & helpful, and staying on a working farm is very special. The location is perfect, right on Hadrian’s Wall, in beautiful Northumberland countryside, with wonderful walking right on the doorstep. The lovely market towns of Hexham & Corbridge are just a few miles from the cottage with many attractions as well as popular restaurants and pubs. There are great places to explore - Cragside, Wallington, the Cheviots, Kielder, the Northumberland coast - and then after a long day walking or sightseeing, there is the warm and welcoming cottage to come home to.

Picture Post Card Luxury Cottage
This picture postcard cottage was a real treat to stay in. It has everything to make your holiday perfect. Comfortable furnishings, excellent appliances and lots of luxury extra touches. We particularly enjoyed having a glass of wine in the early evening on the patio at the back overlooking the farmyard and also on the bench at the front in the garden watching the walkers pass on their trek along Hadrians Wall Path. The cottage is ideally located for all that Northumberland has to offer. Highly recommend

Perfection
Just returned home from our second visit to St Oswald's Farm and it was just as good as our first holiday. You arrive to a warm welcome from Lorraine and Dot and Sky ( John was busy shearing the sheep), the cottage is warm, welcoming and comfortable ,perfect for 2 people. The attention to detail are spot on from the welcome basket to the fresh flowers. The location, on a working farm is a great base for all the region has to offer. I have been self catering for many years and this is only the second cottage I have returned to, I think that says it all. Thank you Lorraine and John, I even got on with Ozzy!!

The perfect cottage for a UK staycation
Our second visit to Heavenfield cottage was just as good as the first. Lorraine and John are wonderful hosts and the cottage was perfect to stay in. The farm's eggs were wonderful for breakfasts and we would recommend the breakfast packs too. An added bonus for us was the EV charging point for our electric car. The location was excellent for day trips along Hadrians Wall between Carlisle and Newcastle, and trips to Bamburgh and Alnwick Castles, Abbottsford, Durham as well as many other interesting places worth a visit. The cottage is in an ideal location for a UK staycation. We will be visiting Heavenfield cottage again.

Superb!
This lovely cottage was recommended to us and we are very happy to recommend it to you. The stunning location, right on Hadrian's Wall, is perfect for exploring the area. The cottage is beautifully presented and every attention paid to detail. The hosts, Lorraine and John, take great pride in their management of this award winning accommodation - and so they should! We had a great week here and plan to return.

A superb property, well-appointed and equipped with very friendly and helpful owners.
Just returned from our second stay at St.Oswald's Farm for a week. The accommodation has everything you need and to a very high standard. Lambing was just ending and some were in the barn. Make sure you take some home! John and Lorraine's family have farmed here for 50 years, so are a mine of information and nothing is too much trouble in making your stay a memorable one. Very, very highly recommended!

An absolute Gem for Peace, History, Location, Comfort and Style
The cottage has been converted to an exceptional standard and left nothing to be desired. Our requests for catering pack and flowers were of high quality. Located on the Military Road sitting on a World Heritage site, The Roman Wall. The adjacent Heavenfield not only having been a battlefield but the start of Christianity in the north east and further. In the field is St Oswald's Church a must for a visit which describes the history but also a stunning view from the rear of the church along the North Tyne Valley and the Northumberland land Moors. Loads to see Roman encampments and the Sill. The Towns of Hexham, Corbridge, Morpeth and Alnwick and we haven't even left Northumberland yet. There are plenty of high quality food establishments within easy reach.

Heavenly Heavensfield!
We booked the cottage way back in February 2019 after seeing the photos online and planning to stay a week June 2020...Covid disrupted our travel plans. We finally arrived in August 2022 and booked for 2 weeks. Heavensfield Cottage was even better in real life - beautiful setting, located on Hadrians Wall. The cottage was 5 star, beautifully decorated, spotless presentation, bedding and pillows to die for, best bathroom we have ever stayed in, and everything you could want including home made scones and farm fresh eggs in a welcome hamper. Dot and Sky (the farm dogs) were great companions each day, coming to see what we were doing, to throw a ball for them, or checking to see if we had treats. Had originally planned to walk the wall but decided to maximise our stay by picking the bits that interested us - Star gazing dinner at the Twice Brewed , Vindolanda, Chesters, Housesteads, Sycamore Gap, Hexham, Corbridge and surrounds. Full credit to John and Lorraine for the creation of Heavensfield Cottage and allowing us to spend time in such a special place. Planning to come back again

Can I give 10 stars?
This was our fourth visit to Lorraine & John’s superb cottage near Hadrian’s Wall & it was as wonderful as ever. So much is special - the location is perfect, the cottage which has been designed & furnished with such care is fabulous, it is so comfortable and well set out, everything you need has been thought of. Then there are all the extras - homemade scones on arrival, flowers from the garden, eggs and lamb from the farm, the most comfortable bedding and furnishings imaginable. John & Lorraine are so friendly & are the perfect hosts with great suggestions of places to visit. And last, but not least, they have the most adorably friendly sheepdogs that you are ever likely to meet. We will be back!
