Stunning Top End Property with all the Bells & Whistles
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Te Muri Ridge and wish we could have stayed longer! Prompt communication and great directions meant we found the property easily and from the minute we arrived Anna and Brian made us feel extremely welcome and at home. We were celebrating my birthday and there was a Happy Birthday sign and a delicious lemon heart cake waiting for us in the kitchen, along with a bottle of Ransom Wine from a local vineyard as well as a block of chocolate. We would have loved to enjoy the spa which has a gorgeous ocean view and had a few rounds of tennis on the tennis court but hubby was still recuperating from an operation on his legs so not an option this time. The whole apartment is incredibly spacious with the bedroom looking out onto the rolling hills, whilst the lounge has a view of the sea and hills. Everything you need and then some - slippers, robes, beautiful help yourself breakfast, loads of extras that make for a comfortable and luxurious stay. Would highly recommend this for a romantic getaway as there is so much to do in the area. Anna and Brian recommended The Puhoi Cheese Cafe - where we enjoyed a wonderful lunch and purchased some beautiful cheeses to have with the Wine they provided. The Matakana Markets on Saturday morning were humming and we also enjoyed a film later in the day at the lovely little Cinema. Got filmed at Puhoi Museum for a student finishing their thesis and enjoyed browsing around Warkworth and enjoying all the wonderful scenery. The beaches are plentiful and great for a brisk walk in Winter - and of course would be wonderful for swimming in summer - and not too crowded. Overall one of the loveliest, well equipped places we have ever stayed at, with attention to detail and then some!

Te Muri Ridge is located in Mahurangi West bordering Mahurangi Regional Park, approximately forty minutes north of Auckland CBD and one hour from Auckland International Airport. We are 5 kilometres off State Highway 1 equidistant from the towns of Orewa and Warkworth. Te Muri Ridge 538 Mahurangi West Road North Auckland 0983 New Zealand Directions: Drive north from Auckland on SH 1 to the end of the motorway through the Johnston Hill tunnel. Approx. 5 kms from the tunnel turn right off SH 1 into Mahurangi West Road [sign reads as Mahurangi Regional Park]. Te Muri Ridge is approx. 5 kms on the right. Drive along the unsealed driveway for 1 kilometre and down through the wooden farm gates at the end.
