We live in the rest of the house. This is a basement apartment built in the 1930's. Although the apartment is totally private from the main house, you will hear us and our footsteps coming from upstairs. :)). You have to take 4 stairs down to your apartment. Guest will have their apartment with own keys and free access to apartment any time. We love giving our guests the freedom as though it is their house so they feel at home. We only ask mutual respect. We’ve been living in this area since last 7 years. Never had any security issues or face any trouble. (We have 2 cats, 1 dog and a turtle....very kind and, I hope, that will not disturb you.) More

About the neighbourhood
Located 5 km from the centre of Brussels but well served by public transport, Jette is an old village that was absorbed into the city. The Jette city hall, Jules Van Ysendyck’s masterpiece, dates from the beginning of the 20th century. The only extant building of the Abbey of Dieleghem has been converted into a mostly historical museum. Jette has kept a few of its old pubs and breweries, as well as a blacksmith’s workshop that still operated until 1960. The René Magritte Museum was set up in the house where the famous painter lived and worked for twenty-four years. The Miroir neighbourhood is crammed with shops and plays host to one of the capital’s biggest markets every sunday. The territory of Jette includes 5 square kilometres of parks
